New Years Eve on Sydney harbour is the best place to avoid the crowds and enjoy the best of the fireworks and all the night has to offer.
Here are a few of the most Frequently Asked Questions to try and give you the most information for the big night
General Points to consider
To Parade or not to Parade?
The Parade of lights is a part of the show each New years eve, a small selection of Sydney's Charter Vessels are invited by the City of Sydney to participate.
The Advantages of being in the parade are simple, we are inside the exclusion zone, so have a far better view of all the fireworks and light shows. We are not required to anchor as are other vessels and as part of the parade we travel around the exclusion zone boarder giving an ever changing view of the parties on the foreshore and anchored boats.
Being in the Parade means we are on the stage, and you can't get closer to the action than that!
Getting a good view?
Getting a good position on board is important, not just on the water, but for yourself on the boat as well. Boats with plenty of outside deck area are best, which allows you to look up and around to see the fireworks
Before choosing, Look at the vessel layout and make sure. Our main winter activity is Whale watching, so most of our vessels are specifically set up for outside viewing
Food?
There is a lot of activity on New Years eve, a 15 course sitdown meal will most likely be wasted since you will want to spend most of your time outside rather that at your table.
Our cruises have minimal food, we find that this is the best way as most of our passengers enjoy the night as out on deck and dont really want to fit in a meal, however we have hampers that you can pre order if you do
Pickup and Dropoff?
Give some consideration to where you will board and disembark the vessel, new years eve is a busy night and taxis both on land and by water are hard to find and expensive.
If you are staying in the city a pickup within walking distance is best. If you are coming from outside the city centre by car, make sure you can find parking within walking distance of the wharf.
If you are travelling from the south of the city we offer a bus pickup and dropoff from Sans Souci Wharf which can make you evening a lot easier, be aware these places are limited so you do need to book early
If you are from the northern beaches or suburbs, then we have one vessel dedicated to a Manly pickup and dropoff, as well as a Darling Harbour and Circular Quay departure vessels.
Drink?
Champagne, Beer, Bottled Wine, Standard spirits and Soft drinks are avaible to purchase on board, however all licensed venues have restrictions on how much we can supply you, which means we (or any other venue) cannot server you to intoxication.
